Project 59 - Wilkes-Barre Painting Contractors
This project was a repeat client in a historic home in Wilkes-Barre. We repaired a crack that was in the dining room ceiling. We then painted the 12 ft high ceilings. In this room were double ten foot wooden doors. They are probably as old as the home, which is from 1857, so they have been scraped and repainted numerous times. We scraped where needed and made repairs to certain areas on both sides of the doors to make those areas smooth again. We then painted both sides with a glossy white.
In the hallway and stairway we made any necessary repairs and repainted the walls the same color and we filled in any cracks along the trim and wainscoting and painted all trim and wainscoting a glossy white. We ran into a problem with the walls in the stairway called efflorescence. We repainted the walls the same color as the hallway.
In all the second floor windows we scraped all the window panes and repainted them.
We scraped and painted the banisters, pillars and porch. The owners went with white for the banisters and pillars and stayed with a similar color for the porch itself. We also painted the front door white.
